Tickets for this sold out really quickly--I was out of town (sans computer)--and my friends weren't able to get tickets.I'd be willing to bet that nerds wrote scripts to snatch these tickets up.
I don't really understand why when there's clearly going to be such high demand--they don't just jack up the price in the first place. I get the idea that there are certain reasons you don't want to do that (e.g., to make it seem egalitarian, or to add a different kind of cachet), but in practice things don't really work out the way they're supposed to, so you might as well make some extra money in the process.
I also feel this way about restaurants in San Francisco to which it's really hard to get reservations.
Also, people tend to value their non-monetary resources irrationally lowly.
